New rail arrived today and fitted on car. Having a little trouble fitting last fin on cab side but I'm sure I'll eventually fix it. Thank you so much for your excellent correspondence in dealing with this and promptly sending the new rail.
Adding these isnt something we need to do to the 5th Gen 4Runner, but it is just another Mod to personalize your 4runner and separate it from the rest. This setup is quite effective and brings the 5th Gen 4Runner closer to what you see on other modern vehicles.
Installation isnt surgery, but a bit of patience will be needed in order to not destroy any of the tabs on the Mirror. The kit comes with tools, but they were useless for me. The Torx screwdriver wasnt needed at all, and the panel tool was just a bit too small to be useful for me (I have a professional panel tool kit). The only part that had me nervous was the removal of the Mirror(Glass) itself. I have done it many times, so it was quite ez for me, but if it is your first time, TAKE IT EASY! Just try to pry from the middle to the best of your ability, or use a suction tool to remove it.
After 5 months, my Front Reading Light is only working at full power on one side. The Drivers side is very bright, but the passenger side is very dim, no matter if on white or Red. Because I count on these interior lights a lot, I will order another set and hope it performs as intended. Even after buying a second set, I'll still be under $100 total, but hopefully it doesnt become wasted money.
